On land, in the air or on the water – each element of the scenery in the Freiraum Ruppiner Land can be enjoyed from all perspectives. Starting with the classic walks through the Mark Brandenburg and tours by bicycle and canoe, right through to gliding and parachuting – there’s something to suit every taste.

Neuruppin

Neuruppin is a town of history! During a tour through the city centre you can experience the historic flair on first hand. The 14 km long Ruppin lake is a wonderful starting point for trips by boat. If you don’t want to paddle yourself, you can use one of the attractive offers by the Neuruppin shipping companies. If you enjoy flying, visit the Neuruppin gliding area and you will feel like a bird in the air. Who doesn’t like to be in such heights can visit the climbing centre of Neuruppin. Here you can climb up a reconstructed water tower from the inside or outside. In the animal park “Kunsterspring” you get to know our native wildlife or rare species like wolves, lynx and wild cats.


Rheinsberg

With its large lake scenery and impressive palace, Rheinsberg is the perfect place to take a break from everyday. There are numerous boat rentals, where you can hire a watercraft and even a yacht. The harbour village “Hafendorf Rheinsberg” and the marina “Wolfsbruch” offer permanent berths to water tourists. If you love to do cycling tours you find a far reaching cycle path network, whereby you can also get to the Berlin-Copenhagen cycle lane. A special experience is a guided quad bike tour through the breathtaking countryside of the nature park “Stechlin Ruppiner Land”. People with disabilities have the possibility to enjoy their vacation at the accessible hotel „Haus Rheinsberg“.


Fehrbellin

The municipality of Fehrbellin is embedded neatly in a remarkable moor landscape, the “Rhinluch”, which was formed in the last ice age. The marshland is an ideal biotope for the numerous birds that live here. In the stork facility “Storchenschmiede Linum” visitors learn a lot about white storks and go on hiking tours to crane resting places. Moreover, Fehrbellin is a paradise for horse lovers. In our region you will find plenty horse farms. Enjoy the landscape during a horseback ride or with an excursion on a horse-drawn caravan.Who enjoys cycling tours should not miss the cycle lane of the year 2011 named “Die Stille Pauline”. Thrillseekers can enjoy the greatest view of our beautiful region during a parachute jump from a great height of 4000 metres.


Lindow

Lindow is located idyllically between three lakes and is the ideal holiday destination for nature lovers. Along the lakesides you will find remote swimming spots over and over again to cool yourself down. On a paddle tour you can reconnoitre the area without ruffle or excitement. The lakes are rich in fish and popular with anglers. If you are lucky you will catch zanders, perches or carp. The jogging park “Laufpark Stechlin” offers ideal conditions for sportsmen. On countless signposted tracks of asphalt or forest floor, jogger can pursue their hobby. Right behind the town hall there is a nice little bird's park, where visitors can watch pheasants, parrots and peacocks from March to October.


Temnitz

Located marginal of the nature park „Stechlin-Ruppiner Land“, the region will delight you with its attractive landscape. The lake “Katerbower See” is part of the big lake area “Mecklenburgische Seenplatte” and has to offer a scope of opportunities to be active at every time of the year. Horse farms invite you to explore the beautiful landscape of Brandenburg during a hack. Adventurous ones can range the unspoiled countryside by taking a trekking tour with Siberian huskies or alpacas.
